Ukrainian forces have successfully reclaimed their positions in Kotlyne, a village that has been the focus of intense Russian assaults in recent days. Paratroopers from the 25th Separate Airborne Brigade managed to push back the enemy, blocking a critical route that could have provided Russian forces access to the Pokrovsk-Dnipro highway.
The 25th Separate Airborne Brigade confirmed the successful counterattack, stating that Ukrainian troops have largely restored control over Kotlyne.
Battle for Kotlyne: Strategic Significance
During the operation, Ukrainian paratroopers cleared most of Kotlyne of Russian forces, regaining lost ground in an engagement that had seen the village almost completely fall into enemy hands. According to the brigade, the breakthrough was achieved as a result of persistent counteroffensive actions throughout the month.
“We can already call this a success, as we have secured most of the village. However, the southern street remains under enemy control. Russian forces continue daily assaults, attempting to reclaim what they lost,” the brigade reported.
Meanwhile, updated battle maps from DeepState confirm that Ukrainian forces have reestablished their positions in Kotlyne, while Russian troops have made advances in the neighboring Pohrebka area.
